Portable Power

The Automatic Transfer Trailer is designed and built to supply critical loads with continuous portable power. Two portable generators are connected to the Automatic Transfer Trailer via heavy duty power cables. One generator is selected as the “main” power source - started and put “on line”. The second generator now becomes the “back-up” generator and is left in the “ready” mode. If the first generator fails for any reason, clogged fuel filter, lack of fuel, any mechanical or electrical failure, the second generator starts up automatically and is “on line” within 30 seconds of the first generator failing. See our photo gallery for additional pictures.

Inside the trailer, the 480 volt 3 phase power that is fed from the generators is transformed down to 208/120 volts via a 75 kva step-down transformer. The transformer feeds a 200 amp, 3 phase load center that in turn feeds a variety of 100, 50, 30 and 20 amp receptacles. A wide variety of mobile equipment can now be plugged in and fed from the numerous receptacles.

In addition to the permanent transformer, there is another portable 75 kva transformer with a built in disconnect, 300 feet of power cable, a 200 amp load center and receptacles to feed additional equipment.

Everything fits into the 8 x 12 foot enclosed trailer and can easily be moved with a pick-up truck.
